Who I am...

This is the personal website of Eric Rolfsen. I am a computer nerd who has just moved to NYC from San Francisco. I have been working with Internet technologies in one form or another for the past 5 years.

I got my start working with a non-profit called the Global Information Internship Program where I worked on projects to increase the technical capacity of other non-profit organizations. One of the most successful projects I created was a series of computer training classes taught to members of AFSCME Local 3299.

After that I jumped into Content Production/Management for YouthNoise. As with most positions, once I began work there my responsibilities expanded to the role of in-house designer. It was from here that I discovered my passion for user centered designs and Information Architecture.

After YouthNoise, I began work as a Jr. Information Architect / User Experience Designer for Gearmark, a small consulting firm. It was in this role that I learned much of my skill set. This role allowed me to work successfully on many end-to-end development projects and gave me the opportunity to interface with clients and multiple development teams. In addition to Project Management I detailed the technical interactions in our wireframes and designed sitemaps.

My work history has allowed me to prove my abilities in Content Production & Management, Quality Assurance, Web Design, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Project Management, and Usability Testing.
